Since 1879, the Copley Society has remained a self-sufficient, nonprofit arts organization. It may come as a surprise to you that the Copley Society, despite its longevity, has no endowment fund. As a result, annual financial needs have been met through members’ dues, artwork sales, special fundraising events, and donations from our supporters. Due to the recent severe budget cuts in the arts, we have relied upon patrons to support the exhibition programs and the educational outreach programming needs at Co|So. Please consider a tax deductible donation to the Copley Society of art.

Last week we looked at the history of European landscape painting in the 17th and 18th century, the role of the French Academy, and the rigid classical themes that dictated the fine arts.
When one thinks of an artist, most people imagine someone painting outside in the picturesque field, easel and paint in tow.
The Copley Society of Art (Co|So) is a non-profit organization committed to the advancement and promotion of its member artists. Dedicated to the
enjoyment of visual arts, the organization provides a platform for arts cultivation while engaging and educating the public. Artist membership is
comprised of contemporary and traditional artists admitted by a credentialed committee.
