In today’s technology driven world, artists in any media cannot afford to ignore digital photography any longer as it may become an important tool for self expression, experimentation and self promotion. This course will teach you how to choose the right camera, the powerful capabilities of this new media, digital workflow from beginning to end, useful software and applications, some basic lighting techniques and how to prepare images for various types of use such as portfolio presentations, or for web applications. During the class we will have hands-on demonstrations with a camera and software used for our purposes. The instructor will show the use of point and shoot as well digital SLR cameras. The computer applications will be exhibited on Windows based programs that are also available for Mac platforms.

Naveed Nour, who has received his BFA in Photography from the University of Ottawa in Canada and also earned his Masters of Management in e-Commerce from Cambridge College, has been photographing professionally for more than 25 years. His work has been exhibited and is being collected internationally. Naveed is the co-founder of PhotoEmerge, an organization that helps emerging photographers to promote themselves in a very competitive field. He also teaches the Business of Fine Art Photography at Mass College of Art.
