Ellen received her BFA in painting from Notre Dame College in 1982, and has studied with many noted artists throughout her career. She has received numerous awards for her art and clay work in both regional and national shows.
Much of her inspiration comes from the love of seascapes and landscapes, and she is frequently seen pleinaire painting. She loves painting along the byways, shores and scenic vistas of Maui, Hawaii and New England, capturing the beautiful views so plentiful on the island and the mainland.
"I enjoy my creative life, as it is a spiritual and inspiring journey. I hope that people experience a sense of place in my work, and enjoy what I refer to as a "fourth dimension", which is the feeling I try to impart. With my clay, I make inspirational, low-fire work. I have a lot of fun creating plaques and orbs for indoor and outdoor decor."
