Charlotte Wharton, CM

THE ARTIST'S PROCESS

Charlotte Wharton's portraits hang in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the United States and in Europe.

Charlotte enjoys painting young adults and women, but has much experience in painting men. She prefers painting from life, but will work from supplemental or posthumous photographs.

The artist meets with the client/subject to schedule a head and shoulder study, a photography session, and portrait sittings. As the portrait develops, Charlotte will provide sketches, head studies, and compositional/color studies when necessary. Three to four sittings are needed to complete a portrait of the head and shoulders and ten sittings for a full-length portrait.

THE FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENT

One-third of the total price is due when portrait details and commission decisions are finalized. Upon delivery of the piece, the remaining fee is due.

Prices listed are for minimal backgrounds. For more complex backgrounds, price estimates are given upon request. More complex backgrounds can reflect an additional 25% to 50% increase of the original price of the portrait.

For each additional figure in the portrait, the price increases an additional 50% of the original price of the portrait.

Prices do not include frames. When the situation warrants it, the artist will help a client select a frame.
