Herbert H. Randle,

THE ARTIST'S PROCESS

To begin a portrait commission with Herbert Randle, the client will meet and discuss with Herb the scope and size of the portrait, the schedule for sittings, and the delivery date.  Herb prefers to work from life, but often uses photographs as an aid and can work entirely from photographs if necessary.  If the client would like Herb can provide sketches for review and allow him or her to see the work-in-progress.  Approximately, one to five sittings are usually necessary to complete a portrait.

THE FINANCIAL AGREEMENT

Fifty percent of the total price is required upon the commissioning of the portrait, with the balance due on completion.  There is an additional charge for an elaborate background, and the price increases by 80% of the estimates below for each additional figure.
