THE ARTIST'S PROCESS

Mark declares that his first love is portraying people; finding the spirit behind the faces. He finds he effect of light play exciting, and believes that color is particularly part of the overall picture.

With Mark, consideration is given to each client based on his or her needs and interests specific to their painting, i.e. a detailed background, double portraits, size etc. Mark is open to meeting and discussing these details with the client. After working up a sketch, Mark usually has the subject pose for several sittings. He can work from photographs; however, he prefers to meet with the model to at least capture a sense of character and to become familiar with the sitter's expression.

THE FINANCIAL AGREEMENT

A 50% deposit is required prior to commencement of the commission, with the final 50% due upon completion. Mark is able to complete alla prima pastel portraits in preparation for a larger commission for an additional $1,000. Prices for full length portraits are available upon request.
