Pamela duLong Williams has been doing portrait commissions since 1974. Pamela is a member of the Portrait Society of America and Silvermine Guild of Artists Portrait Member, at this present time. Her portraits have won awards at the National Academy of Design, NYC, Allied Artists, NYC, American Artist Magazine (two portraits awarded in two categories Oct. issue, 2008), to name a few. She is presently in the permanent collection of the Boston State House Collections of Portraits, along with Sargent, Copley, and Tarbell. She promotes herself as specializing in portraiture. She has been teaching portraiture for over twenty years in CT, NH, and ME. She spends 70 - 80% of her easel time on portraiture.
Artist's Process
Pamela's ideal method of working is to schedule the sitter for at least three sittings at her studio in Portsmouth, NH. A minimum of three hours each. She takes photos to work on areas other than the face. She can and has gone to the sitter's house as well.
